数字技术使用对棉农生产效率的影响机制研究

Abstract:Digital technology-enabledagricultureservesasakeydriver foradvancingagriculturaldigital transformation, enhancing productioneficiency,andfacilitating themodernizationofagriculturalpractices.Basedonsurveydata from 395 cottonfarmers in Xinjiang Province,this studyemployedDEA,OLS,multivariate logistic regression,andmediation efect models to examine the impact mechanismof digital technologyoncottonfarmers'production eficiency.The findings revealedthat:theadoptionofdigital technologysignificantlyimprovedproductivity,withcotton farmersutilizingdigital technologyachievingaO.175higherproductivitylevelcompared tothosewhodonot;the mechanismanalysis showed that landtransfer plays a partly mediating rolein therelationshipbetween digital technology adoption and productivityof coton farmers;andheterogeneityanalysisdemonstratedthattheimpactof digitaltechnologyvariedbaseddiferentresource endowments.Specifically,landfertity,farmlandscale,andlandfragmentationsignificantlyinfluencedproduction efficiency at the 1% level.Furthermore,different types of digital technology exert varying effects on cotton farmers' productivity,ranked asfollows:unmanned aerial vehicle(UAVs) > agricultural navigation systems > Internet of Things (IoT)systems > water and fertilizer management > baling and picking machines > GPS positioning. This study that was basedonmicro research datainvestigated the efectof digital technologyadoption fromthe perspectiveof cotton farmersand proposes the folowingpolicyrecommendations:optimizing subsidymechanisms tosupport digital technology adoption,enhancing demonstrationand promotionof digital technology,facilitating landtransfer torealizeeconomiesof scale,and developing a skilled workforce through regular digital technology training programs.
