Abstract:Toaddress theissuesoflowshelling eficiencyandhigh grain damagerates inexisting castorshelling machinery, a castorsheling device was developed based on the extrusionand rubbing action between a working belt andarubberrubbing plate.The design primarily focused onthecore shellng mechanism,including calculations forthe extrusionangleand the configurationof the shelinggap.A prototype was fabricated,and performance tests wereconducted toevaluate theeffects of shellng gap,activeroler speed,and inclinationangleontheshelling process.Theresultsrevealed thatboththe sheling rate and the damage rate decreased as the sheling gap increased.Specifically,when the shellng gap was set to 8mm ,the damage rate was reduced to 3.63% . As the rotational speed of the driving roller increased,the shelling rate and damage rate initially rose and then declined.Within the optimal speed range of 335-365r/min ,the shelling rate ranged from 91.3% to 91.9% ,while the damage rate ranged from 2.5% to 3.25% . Additionally,a slight decline in both shelling and damage rates was observedwith anincrease intheinclination angle.Basedonthe testfindings,theoptimal working parameters were determined to be a shelling gap of 8mm ,an active roller speed of 350r/min ,and an inclination angle of 15∘ .Under these conditions,the shelling rate reached 92.1% ,and the damage rate was reduced to 2.7% :
