Abstract:Inordertoobtainthekeyparameters forthe spiral extrusion dewatering device with variable pitch designed for walnut green husk,the physicaland mechanical propertiesof the walnut gren husk fromthe“Wenl85”walnut variety were measuredandanalyzed.Thefundamental materialcharacteristics evaluated included greenhusk thickness,density,moisture content,andfrictioncoeficients.Mechanical propertiessuchaselasticmodulus,shear modulus,Possn'sratio,coficient ofrestitutionwerealsoassessed.Aditionall,compresioncharacteristics includingcompressionforceanddehydrationrate were examined. The results showed that the average thickness of the green husk was 7.12mm ,with an average density of 1.053g/cm3 and a moisture content of 89.8% . The static friction coefficients between the walnut green husk and plastic, wood and steelsurfaces wereO.33,O.63andO.36,respectively.Thesliding frictioncoeficient was measuredatO.29,and theroling friction coefficient was O.Ol5.The elastic modulus,shear modulus,and Poisson'sratio were found to be 2.25MPa , 0.83MPa and O.34 respectively. The coeficient of restitution between walnut green husk and steel plate was 0.63.Compression tests revealed that the applied compression force ranged from 8kN to 36kN . The resulting dehydration ratevaried from 21% to 52% ,while the compression ratio ranged between 3.1:1 and 4.7:1. Both dehydration rate and compression ration increased with higher applied pressure.At a maximum pressure of 36kN ,the dehydration rate peaked at (20 52% ,and the compression ratio reached $4 . 6 2 \colon 1 \$ .Furthermore,increasing the pressure holding time also enhanced the dehydration effect. At a pressure of and a holding time of 90s ,the dehydration rate was 43.8% ,witha correspondingcompresionratioof3.89:1.Basedontheanalysisof thetestresults,achieving effectivedewateringrequired a compression ratio with in the range of to 3.5:1. These findings provided essential theoretical data and design parameters for the development and optimization of the walnut green husk spiral extrusion dewatering device.
