Abstract：Thispaper aims tocomprehensively explore theorigins，development，andculturalconnotations oftraditional ChineseandJapanesecolors，aswellastheircomparisosandmutualinfuenes.Firstlyoutlinestheigisanddevelopent oftraditional Chinesecolors，revealingtheassociationsbetweencolorsandtheFiveElements，directions，seasons，and their manifestationsinreligionandphilosophy.Then，itelaboratesontheoriginsanddevelopmentoftraditionalJapanese colors，analyzingtheconectionsbetweencolorsandShintoism，Buddhism，andtheiraestheticconepts.Basedonthis，a deepcomparison is made between Chineseand Japanese traditional colors in terms ofcolornamingand clasification，color application，andaestheticviews.Furthermore，itdiscuses theabsorptionandtrasformationoftraditionalChinesecolorsby traditionalJapanesecolors，aswellastheinfluenceandintegrationoftraditionalChinesecolorsontraditionalJapaesecolors. FinalyitsummarizestevalueandsignificanceofthestudyoftraditionalChineseandJapanesecolorsandlooksforwardto future research directions.
