Abstract：Asanineteenth-centuryFrenchsymbolistpainterand masterofcolour，OdilonRedonblurredtheboundariesbetween therealworldandtheworldoffantasywithhisrichemotionsanduiqeartisticcreativitygivinghispicturesdreamycolours andrichartisticootatios.Hisreationsbforeandftertheblacksolitudepriodandcoourfuldreamperiod，withitsuque colour feelingand symboliccolourcharacteristics togivepeopleasenseof nothingness.Inthispaper，we willcombineOdilon Redon's lifeandartcreations，nalyseandinterprethisemotional expressionfromthecolourlanguageofhisworks，andexploe his artistic spirit of symbolism and metaphor.
