Abstract：Thereasonableselectionoffour-poleswitchesisanimportantisueinthedesignoflow-voltagedistribution systems.Thispaperexpoundstheroleoffour-poleswitchesandthe hiddendangerscausedbyimproperselection，summarizes thecharacteristicsofvariouslow-votagedistributiongroundingsystems，andpointsoutthattheinfluenceofstraycurrntsould beavoidedwhenselecting four-poleswitches，andatthesame time，theoccurrenceof "zero-break"accidentsshouldbe prevented.Finally，theselectionprinciplesoffour-poleswitchesincommonsinglepowersupplygroundingsystemsandmulti power supply grounding systems in substations are analyzed.
