Research progress on simulation and evaluation of routing protocols for flying Ad hoc network

Abstract:Withthedevelopmentof UAVtechnologyandcooperativecommunications,FANEThas gained wideapplicationin military,agriculture,logistics,andotherfieldsduetoitshighflexibilityanddynamic mobility.Owing tofeaturessuchashigh mobilityofnodesandfrequentcommunication link interuptions,thedesignandevaluationofFANETrouting protocolsface significantchallnges.Thispaperreviewedtherepresentativeprotocolsandtheirsimulation-basedevaluationmethods toclarify the maindirections,common isuesandkeychallenges intheresearchofFANETrouting protocols.Thispaperanalyzed the optimizationstrategiesfortopologyawareness,inkmaintenance,andenergyeficencycontrolindetailAditionally,itsummarizedthecommonperformance evaluationmetrics,andassed theperformanceofmainstreamsimulationtools intermsof modelingaccuracy,verificationeficiency,andapplicability.Thissurveycoveredmultipleaspects,cluding protocldesign, performance evaluation metrics,andsimulationenvironments,toidentifycurrentlimitationsandchallenges inthefieldand highlighted thepotential directions forfutureresearch.
