Abstract： Watermelon silver motle virus （WSMoV）disease is devastating to watermelon production.To investigate the occurrence paternsandcontrolmeasuresofthediseasein field production，abrief overviewis givenonthe field symptoms，globaldistribution，andtransmissionmethodsofthevius.Herein wesummarizethekeys topreventingandcontrollingtheWSMoVdisease liesinaddressingthetransmissionvector，Thripspalmi.Inaditionthemeasuresofchemical treatment，physicalcontrol，agriculturalpractices，ndbologicalcontrolareintroducedtoectivelymanageteread of thewatermelon silvermottle virusdisease by Thripspalmi.
