Effects of amino acid liquid fertilizer on the growth and nitrogen metabolism of onion at seedling stage

Abstract:Aminoacidliquid fertilizerisbeneficialtocropgrowthanddevelopmentandyieldincrease,sothis studyinvestigatedteeffectsofdifferentconcentrationsofaminoacid liquidfertilizerononionseedlinggrowthandnitrogenmetabolismof keyenzyme activities,to provideappropriate guidance foronionseedling fertilizationmanagement.Thetest materialwas white-skinnedonion'White Snow',withonecontrolCK(1/4Hogan's nutrientsolution)andthreetreatments(T1: 500-fold dilution of amino acid liquid fertilizer +1/4 Hogan's nutrient solution, T2:3oo-fold dilution of amino acid liquid fertilizer +1/4 Hogan'snutrient solution,T3:1oo-fold dilution ofamino acid liquid fertilizer + 1/4 Hogan's nutrient solution).Plant growth indexes and physiological indexes of nitrogen metabolism were cariedout to determine when the seedlings grew to two true leaves.Theresultsshowed that,comparedwithCK,theheightofonionsedlings inT1 treatment decreased by 20.8% ,the stem thickness increased by 15.8% ,the root length increased by 10.7% ,therelative watercontent decreased by 3.3% ,and theaccumulation oforganic matter increased.Therelativechlorophyll content of onion seedlings increased by 7.2% , 7.9% and 10.1% under the three concentrations of treatments;with the increase of aminoacidliquidfertlizerconcentration,thekeyenzymesofnitrogenmetabolism,includingglutamatedehydrogenase, nitratereductase,glutaminesynthetaseand glutamatesynthetase,showedanincreasing trend,withthehighestenance
