Abstract： MiheiNo.2isanew earlymaturing pumpkin developed byusing the inbred line SNGooo16-1-1-3as female parentand ZYZ5341 as male parent.This variety matures early.Itiscultivated inopen fields in spring in Chongqing，with afruit development period of 6O days.Its fruit shape is oblate，withanaverage horizontal diameter of 28cm andavertical diameter of 13cm .It is green for tender melons and dark green for ripe melons.The melon has obvious nodules and less wax powder. The average flesh thickness is 4.1cm ，with single fruit mass is 4.21kg and 667m2 yield is 3361.8kg .The vitamin C content is 35.0mg⋅100g-1 ，the soluble sugar content is 4.56% ，the protein content is 1.08g⋅100g-1 ，the crude fiber content is 1.1% ，the starch content is 6.62% ，the moisture content is 82.56% ，and the β -carotene content is 27.49mg ： kg-1 .It showsresistancetopowderymildewinthefield，has goodcommercialvalue，anditissuitableforspringopenfield cultivation in Chongqing and similar ecological areas.
