Abstract：Englishasalingua franca （ELF）playsavitalroleininternationalcommunicationintheupsurgeof globalization.With theincreasingumberofnon-nativeEnglishspeakersaccenthasbecoeneoftekeyfactorsafectingcrossculuralcomunicationandidividuallanguageidentityecentlysholarshavegaduallpadatentontoteoleofdiferentaccntsinELou nicationandteirinfluenceontheidentityfnon-nativeEnglishspeakers.Basedontheanalysisofiveempiricalstudies，itisre vealedthataccntnotonlyfectstheommuncationefctofindividualsinaultligualenvionent，utaosapstirder standingandidenticationofself-identity.ItsuggeststatChinesecollegestudentsgaduallyacceptthediversityofEnghacets incrossculturalcommunicationhepuposeoftispapristoprovideanewperspectiveandthoreticalsupportforcossultural communication and ELF research，and also to provide reference for the research in related fields.
