Thermal-Oxidative Aging Characteristics of Warm Mix Asphalt Binder Based on Rheological Tests

Abstract: [Purposes] In view of the unclear performance evolution of warm mix asphalt during the thermal-oxidative aging process,this study systematically investigated the effects of diferent warm mix agents and asphalt types on the rheological properties of asphalt binder after thermal-oxidative aging, to provide theoretical support for the durability design of warm mix asphalt.[Methods] Using SK-7O# base asphalt and SBS modified asphalt as the base binders,three warm mix agents—Sasobit,Evotherm,and Aspha-min—were added respectively. RTFOT and PAV were used to simulate short-term and longterm aging.The efects of aging on viscosity and high-and low-temperature rheological properties were evaluated through rotational viscosity,DSR,and BBR tests.The correlation between viscosity and rheological indicators was analyzed.[Findings] Warm mix agents overall improved the aging resistance of the asphalt binder,with Sasobit showing the best performance.Aging significantly increased the hightemperature rutting factor G*/sinδ but weakened the low-temperature crack resistance.The warm mix agents did not alter the low-temperature performance grade.Under long-term aging, G*/sinδ showed a good linear correlation with viscosity ( R2=0.773 7 ).[Conclusions] Warm mix agents can significantly enhance the aging resistance of asphalt.Aging improves high-temperature performance but reduces lowtemperature crack resistance.The correlation between the rutting factor and viscosity provides a theoretical basis for predicting high-temperature performance.

0 引言

温拌沥青早在二十一世纪初被引入我国,其相较于热拌沥青,施工温度可降低 10~25°C ,具有良好的节能和环保等优势,在国家实施交通强国建设和"双碳”目标背景下,温拌沥青的研究和应用仍是道路工程行业的热点[1-3]
