Calculation Method of Bearing Capacity of Steel Tube Concrete Column-H Steel Beam Connection without Diaphragm

Abstract: [Purposes] In view of the decreasing trend of the column width of concrete-filled rectangular steel tube structure and the construction problem that the concrete in the connection area is difficult to be compacted,a new type of connection and its calculation method of load carrying capacity are put forward.[Methods] Based on the yield line theory and the calculation method of bending bearing capacity of iner diaphragm connections,calculation method of bending bearing capacity is presented for no diaphragm connections under axial compression.[Findings] The bending bearing capacity is verified,and the comparison between the calculated results and the finite element simulation results are carried out, the results have a good agreement.[Conclusions] Theoretical derivation and analysis have verified the feasibility of the connection between steel tube concrete in-filled column and H-shaped steel beam withoutthe partition plate.This will provide theoretical support for the application of the no diaphragm connectionin the future.
