Abstract: [Purposes] To improve the storage stability and construction performance of conventional rubber powder modified asphalt.[Methods] NaOH solution was used to pretreat the rubber powder,and TOR modifier was added.The high temperature performance of modified asphalt was evaluated by high temperature rheological test and rotational viscosity test.The low temperature performance of modified asphalt was evaluated by BBR test.Through rutting test,low temperature bending test and freeze-thaw splitting test,the road performance of different rubber powder modified asphalt mixture was evaluated. [Findings] The results show that NT-RA has the best high-temperature shear deformation resistance and low-temperature crack resistance,and the improvement of asphalt viscosity is the most obvious,followed by T-RA.The high temperature performance,low temperature crack resistance and water stability of NT-RA mixture are the best,followed by T-RA mixture. Compared with RA mixture,the performance of N-RA mixture is not significantly improved.The modification effect of TOR on asphalt is better than that of NaOH solution pretreatment.[Conclusions] When TOR is used to improve the activated rubber powder pretreated with NaOH solution,TOR and activated rubber powder exert a synergistic modification effect, which makes the modified NT-RA have the best performance.
