Abstract: Since theadvent of the Software Defined Network (SDN),theconceptof separating the control plane from the data plane hasatracted extensiveattention inthenetworkfield.Inorder toensurethefuencyofhigh-priorityvideoservices during network congestion,this paper designs a videoaccelerator based onsoftware definedresourcereservationandapplies ittodistributedvideoconferencing.Whentheoverallnetworkbandwidthisinsuficienttoensurehigh-qualitytransmisionof allvideo streams,serviceproviders canreserve bandwidthforspecificvideo services through the payment mechanismof video accelerators,therebyensuring networkQualityofService(QoS),improvingend-to-end videoqualityandimprovingend-user experience.Experiments showthattheschemecanreserve bandwidthforspecificvideostreamsthrough SDN,andsignificantly improve video streamquality and user experience.
