Abstract: In order to reduce the impact of shooting angle,light and environmentalcolor on the current license plate recognitionsystems,alicenseplaterecognitionsystembasedonMATLABisdesigned,andaGUinterfaceisonstructedfor efect testing.Interms ofrecognitionalgorithms,the vehicle imagesarefirstpreprocessed toreducememoryusage,mprove image informationqualityandsystemoperationspeedThen,thlicenseplatesarelocatedandsegmented,andcharacteratur areextractedtoachievecharacterrecognition.Finallycharactersareoncatenatedtodisplaythecompletelicenseplateumbe TheGUI interface includes functionsforlicense plateimagerecognition,vehicleentryandexit,andtimeandfeecalculation. Users click the“CarEntry”and“CarExit”butons tooperate,and therecognitionresultsare displayed incorresponding components.Aftervalidation,thesystemcancorrecttilted license plates andachieve fastandaccuraterecognitionesults.
