License Plate Recognition Design Based on MATLAB

Abstract： In order to reduce the impact of shooting angle，light and environmentalcolor on the current license plate recognitionsystems，alicenseplaterecognitionsystembasedonMATLABisdesigned，andaGUinterfaceisonstructedfor efect testing.Interms ofrecognitionalgorithms，the vehicle imagesarefirstpreprocessed toreducememoryusage，mprove image informationqualityandsystemoperationspeedThen，thlicenseplatesarelocatedandsegmented，andcharacteratur areextractedtoachievecharacterrecognition.Finallycharactersareoncatenatedtodisplaythecompletelicenseplateumbe TheGUI interface includes functionsforlicense plateimagerecognition，vehicleentryandexit，andtimeandfeecalculation. Users click the“CarEntry”and“CarExit”butons tooperate，and therecognitionresultsare displayed incorresponding components.Aftervalidation，thesystemcancorrecttilted license plates andachieve fastandaccuraterecognitionesults.
