Abstract：Thispaperuses thereportsonHainan-relatedtopicsinChinaDailyfromJanuary202OtoMay2O21asitscorpus toexaminetheconstructionofHainan’simagethroughthemes，discursiveapproaches，andatitudinalorientations.ThestudyfindstatChina Dailyscovergeofainanfuctuatedwithaverageofrtclesperonthostreportsereedtoshortinlengthhilelti caland conomictopicsleanedtowardmedium-to-longlength；itermsofthemes，ChinaDilyprioritizedpolics，economicdevelopment，andsocialwelfareandpeople’slivelihoods，withlimitedcoverageofience，education，culture，andsports，andeotourism.In termsofdiscourseatitude，thereportsonHainan’sculture，politics，conomyportrayedapredominantlypositiveimage，witholyafew articles on natural disasters and social issues adopting neutral or negative tones.
