How Data Assets Empower Corporate Organizations？ The Mediating Effect of Total Factor Productivity

Abstract：Against the backdrop of China’s digital transformation，this study explores the synergistic mechanism among data assets，total factor productivity（TFP），and organizational resilience using data from Shanghai and Shenzhen A-share listed companies from 2O13 to 2O23.The findings reveal that data assets significantly enhance organizational resilience by optimizing resource allocation，driving technological innovation，and improving dynamic adaptability，with this efect being more pronounced in nonasset-intensive and non-high-tech enterprises.Total factor productivity serves as a critical mediating pathway through which data assets empower organizational resilience，forming a positive fedback loop of “data-driven-TFP enhancement-resilience strengthening”Heterogeneity analysis indicates that assetintensiveenterprises struggle to full unleash thevalue of data due to physical inertia constraints，while traditional industries achieve resilience leaps more readily by empowering existing assets through data. The study unveils the theoretical pathway of how data assets strengthen organizational resilience via productivity mediation，providing empirical evidence and policy implications for enterprise resilience management in the digital economy era.
