Research on the Impact of Enterprise Digital Transformation on Green Patent Output from the Perspective of Life Cycle

Abstract:Based on a life cycle perspective,using data from A-shares,listed on the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges,this study employs a two-way fixed effects model to quantitatively analyze the impact of enterprise digital transformation on green patent output and the moderating role of intellectual property protection intensity therein.The results show that:enterprise digital transformation has a significant promoting effect on both the quantity and quality of green patents,and this conclusion remains valid after a series of robustness tests;intellectual property protection intensity plays a positive moderating role between enterprise digital transformation and the quantity of green patents; heterogeneity analysis indicates that the promoting efect of digital transformation on the quantity and quality of green patents is more prominent in state-owned enterprises and non-heavy-polluting enterprises,and intellectual property protection intensity also exhibits a significant positive moderating effect in these two types of enterprises;further research finds that enterprise digital transformation has a promoting effect on green innovation of enterprises in the growth and decline stages.The research conclusions provide decision-making references for the government to improve the intellectual property protection policy system and promote green technological innovation.
