Abstract：Duringthereconstructionandexpansion processof highways，whenbuildinganew bridge tomettraficneedsin navigablewaters，itisnecessarytotakeintoaccountnavigationsafetyandthestructuralstabilityanddurabilityoftheewly builtbridge，whichundoubtedlyfacesmanytechnical problemsandchalenges.Thispapertakestheprojectofanew65-meter steelboxgirdercrossingnavigablewatersinthereconstructionandexpansionprojectofafour-lanetoeight-lanehighwayin Hunanasanexample，anddeplyanalyzeskeylinkssuchasbeam design，segmentsegmentation，hoisting，welding，and painting，andsummarizesasetofconstructiontechnologiesandtechnicalpointssuitablefornewstelboxgirdersinhighway reconstructionandexpansionprojects.Thisachievementcanprovidepracticalexperienceandtechnicalreferenceforsimilar highway bridge reconstruction and expansion projects in the future.
