Abstract: Taking somecoalfieldasanexample,hydrogeological exploration technologywasused toobtain theoccurrence characteristicsofOrdovicianlimestonekarstwatertoprovidebasisforwaterpreventionandcontrolinsubsequentcoalseam mining.TeGroundTransientElectromagneticMethod(TEM)isusedtodetectthewater-richsituationinthestructuralanomaly area;takingthe#15coalseamastheresearchobject,thedillngandsamplingmethodisusedtoobtainthewaterlevel, water-richsituationandkarstdevelopmentofthetargetrock formation;pumpinganddrainagetestsarecarredouttograspthe chemicalcharacteristicsofaquiferwaterandOrdovician limestonewater.Hydrogeologicalexplorationresultsshowthatroof sandstonewateristhedirectwater-fillngsourceformininginNo.15coalseam,andflooOrdovicianlimestonewateristhe indirectwater-filngsourcefor#15coalseam,sowaterpreventionandcontrolmeasures nedtobetaken.Thewater-resisting layeris mainly mediumandhardrock formations,which hasstronganti-damage abiltyandisbeneficial tocoalseam mining.
