Abstract:Inordertoimprovethesafetyofhighwaybridgesandculvertsoperation,thispaperanalyzesthecausesof diseasesinhighwaybridgesandculverts,suchasconstructionfactors,environmentalfactors,designfactors,andmaterialfactors, andexploresthemechanismofcommondiseasesinhighwaybridgesandculverts.Takingacertainhighwayastheresearch object,andaccordingtothelocationofthediseases，statisicalanalysisiscariedoutonthetypesandquantitiesofdiseases. Through theresearchandaplicationof diseasetreatmentandmaintenance management measuressuchascracks,stelcoosion, bearings,expansionjoints,freeze-thaw，etc.，thedurabilityandsafetyofbridgeandulvertstructuresareimproved，which provides reference for the prevention and maintenance of highway bridge diseases.
