Abstract：Duringtheconstructionoflongdistanceoilandgaspipelineprojects，thestabilityof theoriginalenvironmentwill inevitablybechanged.Inordertoensurelong-termsafeandstableoperationofthepipelineandtherestorationoftheecological environmnt，thereasonableuseofhydraulicprotectiontypesandmaterialsduringtheconstructionprocessisparticularly important.Traditionalhydraulicprotectionmaterialssuchasmortarmasonry，concrete，etc.canplayacertainrole，whileflexible compositematerials，asanewmaterial，havebeenusedinvariousengineeringconstructioninrecentyearsduetoitseconomic priceandenvironmentalfriendlinessItalsoplaysgreatvalue.Thispapertakesflexiblecompositematerials（geosynthetics）asan exampletoanalyzetheirapplicabilityinhydraulicprotectionofoilandgaspipelines，providingreferenceforothersimilar engineering projects.
