PM2.5 Concentration in Campus Atmosphere During Autumn and Winter and Its Relationship with Meteorological Factors

Abstract:[Purposes] This study aims to explore the characteristics of atmospheric PM2.5 concentration on campus during autumn and winter and its relationship with meteorological factors,so as to provide a scientific basis for improving campus airquality.[Methods] Based on the observational data from the campus weather station of Zhengzhou Normal University in 2O24,and utilizing tools such as SPSS and R,correlation analysis and curve fiting methods were applied to investigate the variation of atmospheric PM2.5 (20 concentration on campus during autumn and winter and its relationship with meteorological factors. [Findings] The atmospheric PM2.5 concentration on campus during autumn and winter showed an initial increase followed by a decrease,with the peak value occurring in October,averaging 73.8μg/m3 . During the study period, the PM2.5 concentration was consistently higher than that in Zhengzhou City,and the campus experienced more days of severe pollution. PM2.5 concentration exhibited a strong correlation with wind speed and air humidity,but a weak correlation with other factors.[Conclusions] The overall air quality on campus was relatively good,though slightly worse than thatof Zhengzhou City.Additionally, PM2.5 pollution was most severe in October.Wind speed and air humidity were identified as the main factors influencing PM2.5 concentration on campus.
