Effect of Heat Treatment on the Microstructure and Properties of C-type Metal Sealing Ring

Abstract:[Purposes] This study aims to investigate the influence of heat treatment processes on the microstructure and properties of GH4169 ally C-type sealing rings.[Methods]An intermediate annealing process was introduced into the solution and aging treatment.The effect of intermediate annealing on the microstructure and properties of the sealing rings was analyzed through metalographic examination and hardnesstesting.[Findings] The introduction of the intermediate annealing process during the solution and aging treatment effectively refined the grains.At higher annealing temperatures,the grain refinement ffects were similar for both sequences.However,at lower annealing temperatures, the pre-aging annealing process resulted in better grain refinement compared to the post-aging annealing process.[Conclusions] Within the intermediate annealing processes studied, the pre-aging annealing at 350∘C for 4 hours yielded the best grain refinement effect, increasing the grain size grade by approximately 11.5%
