Analysis of GNSS Height Anomaly FittingAccuracy in Different Terrains

Abstract:[Purposes] To summarize a set of elevation conversion procedures applicable to diferent terrains,providing reference for subsequent elevation measurement engineering projects.[Methods] Based on road-strip engineering projects in diferent terrains,elevation anomaly fitting was studied using GAMIT/GLOBK and EGM2008 model with different fiting methods and public elevation points.[Findings] The results show that compared with ordinary baseline processing software, using GAMIT/GLOBK with IGS station data for height anomaly calculation improves accuracy from meter-level to decimeteror centimeter-level.For plain areas,elevation fiting with a small number of known points can meet the elevation specifications of low-grade highways; for plateau areas,higher requirements for known points apply,and the constant model or quadratic surface model is recommended; for high mountain areas,the selection of known points requires strict criteria,and the quadratic surface model is preferred.[Conclusions] This workflow requires only afew known points to obtain elevation data for the entire survey area within specified accuracy, significantly reducing field survey intensity.
