Research on Machining Process Optimization of Piston Compressor Cyl. inder

Abstract: [Purposes]Aiming at the problems of low output,high cost and unstable quality in the production process of piston-type air compressor cylinders machined by CNC lathes with manual fixtures,the existing equipment and processes were optimized to reduce machining time and tool consumption,thus increasing the team's productivity.[Methods] The existing waste 1O-inch hydraulic chuck in the production workshop was modified by adding movable sliders and replaceable positioning sleeves to enhance its versatility.At the same time,a composite tool holder was designed to avoid tool-changing errors and improve the turning strength of the tools.[Findings] The results show that the improved scheme based on the hydraulic fixture and composite tool reduced the machining time from 340 s to 195 s.The tool cost was reduced by 1/3,and the single-piece clamping time was shortened from 60 s to 15 s.The production output per shift increased by nearly1.5 times,and the scrap rate dropped from 0.800% to 0.003% .[Conclusions] The improved machining method not only shortens the machining time and reduces workers' labor intensity,but also significantly improves the equipment utilization rate and production quality.
