Abstract: This paper explores the application of OBE teaching concept in ideological and political education in applied undergraduate Higher Mathematics course, and expounds its design principles and strategies, as well as practical cases. The study argues that OBE teaching concept can effectively improve students' mathematical literacy and ideological and moral quality, cultivate students' innovation ability and social responsibility, and realize the organic integration of knowledge imparting, ability training and value leading. This paper puts forward the design principles of outcome-oriented, student-centered, ability-based and value-guided, and the design strategies of determining course objectives and graduation requirements, constructing course system and teaching content, selecting teaching methods and evaluation methods, and building teaching resources and platforms. Through three representative higher mathematics knowledge points, it shows how to integrate ideological and political elements into the teaching process, and stimulate students' learning interest and ideological vitality.
