Abstract: In response to the needs and challenges in traffic big data education, this paper explores the application and practice of a blended online-offline teaching mode in Traffic Big Data course. Through analyzing existing courses domestically and internationally, key deficiencies in teaching methods and resource integration were identified, leading to the design of a new course that integrates various teaching strategies. This course framework emphasizes the importance of practical application, utilizing case studies, project-driven and interactive learning methods, while maintaining the flexibility and timeliness of content to adapt to the rapid development of the field. The results demonstrate that the new course significantly enhances students' engagement and interaction. By introducing real-life case studies and diverse assessment strategies, the course effectively improves teaching quality and students' comprehensive abilities. The development of this new course provides a novel teaching model and content design approach for traffic big data education, offering fresh perspectives and practical experiences for policy formulation and academic exchange. This innovative course design showcases the potential of closely integrating theory and practice, providing an effective pathway to cultivate high-quality professionals capable of adapting to the rapidly changing society and industry demands.
