Abstract[Objective]To provide scientific basis for management of Eucalyptus grandis ×E .urophylla mixed forest.[Method] To explore the effects of three treatment modes,pure stands of Eucalyptus grandisxE.urophylla(CK),Eucalyptus grandis ×E. urophylla-Acacia mangium mixed plantation( M1 ),and Eucalyptus grandis×E.urophylla-Phoebe bournei mixed plantation( M2 ),on the growth of Eucalyptus grandis ×E. urophylla and the diversity of understory vegetation,a plot survey method was employed.Growth parameters of Eucalyptus grandis ×E .urophylla,species compostion,anddiversityindicesofunderstoryegetationwereompaedamongtheheetreatments.esult]Tesultsoedatn mixedplantatioods,othcaciamangmndoebeoueiebiedetergowthithigfcantlyghertreeighttet breast height,and individual volume of Eucalyptus grandis ×E. urophylla compared to pure stands.However,there was no significant difference between the two mixed plantation modes.The number of understory plant species in the three modes was ranked as M2>M1> CK.Dominant speciesintheshrubandherblayersvariedamongdiferentmodes.TheShannon-WienerdiversityindexofshrubandherblayersinCKwaslower than that in M1 and M2 ,while the Pielou evenness index was higher than that in M1 and M2 .The similarity of understory plant communities between M1 and M2 was high,whileitwassignificantlydiferentfrom CK.Conclusion]Diferent mixedplantationmodescanbeadopted inthe management of Eucalyptus grandis ×E urophylla plantations to promote its growth and enhance understory vegetation diversity.
