Investigation and analysis of wild medicinal plant resources along roadsides inLushan NatureReserve

AbstractTo protectand rationallyuse wild medicinal plant resources in Lushan Nature Reserve,two methods (plot surveyand line transectsurvey）wereadopted inthis study fora preliminarysurveyof roadside wild medicinal plant resources at seven sites in the study area: Jiandaoxia Gorge,Shimenjian Stream,Tiefosi Temple, Xiufeng Peak,Hanyang Peak,Maweishui Stream，and Haihuisi Temple,with specimen identification via literature review and expert consultation.The results showed thatthe common roadside wild medicinal plantresources in the study area cover 79 families,133 genera,and142 species.Among them,angiospermsaccountforthe majority (68 families,120genera,128 species); asteraceae has the highest representation with 11 species,accounting for 7.75% of the total species.Herbaceous plants dominate thelifeforms,andthe main medicinalpartsarerootsandrhizomes,as wellas whole plants.A totalof 42 key medicinal plant speciesare listed in the Pharmacopoeia of thePeople's Republicof China (ChP).In viewof the richness of wild medicinal plantresources inthe studyarea,itissuggested tostrengthenresource investigationand protection efforts,deepen scientificresearch,strengthen industrialsupport,and enhance popularscience publicityand education,so as to promote the sustainable development ofthe Chinese herbal medicine industry.This paper provides a reference for the investigation of medicinal plant resourcesin related areas.
