Investigation and analysis of forest and grassland germplasm resources in Feidong County

AbstractTo fully grasp the current status of forest and grassland germplasm resources in Feidong County，Anhui Province，this studyconductedasurveyandstatisticsonthe types，quantitiesand distributionof wildtrees，colected and preserved，cultivatedand utilized forestand grassand germplasmresources inthe studyarea through the spline survey methodand incombination with literature.The results showedthatatotal of 426 species offorest and grassland germplasm resources belonging to 277 genera and11 families were recorded in the study area，including 249 species of forest trees belonging to144 generaand 6 families and177 speciesof herbaceous plants belongingto 138 genera and 62 families.Among them，there were 264 kindsofforestand grassland germplasmresources，215 kinds ofcultivated and utilizedforestand grasslandgermplasmresources，35kindsofforestand grassand germplasmresourcescolectedand preserved，241 ancient and famous tree germplasm resources，14 kinds of rare and protected forest and grassland germplasmresources （3 kindsoffirst-class national wild protected plants，6 kindsof second-class national wild protected plants，and5kindsof provincial wild protected plants），3excellentforest standsand3excellentindividual plants.Basedon the survey data，a series of resource protectionand management strategies have been proposed， including implementing technical measures such as tree hole restoration and rot system rejuvenation，conducting germplasm colection and establishing ex-situ protection circle，setting upsci-cuting gardens，seedling seed garden or applying tissue culture and other technical means for systematic preservation，and constructing a dynamic monitoring and information management technology platform forforest and grassland germplasm resources.This study provides a reference for improving the germplasm resource protection system in the study areaand establishing a long-term preservation and utilization mechanism for forest and grassland germplasm resources.
