Abstract:To investigate thealleviativeeffects ofsalicylicacid(SA)priming ontheseed germinationofrapeseed(Brassica napusL.)under abiotic stress,this studyutilized seedsof thecultivar Zhongshuang No.11.Aseed germination incubator was employed forthe germinationtrials.Seeds were primed with SAat sixconcentration gradients:O(CK),0.2,0.4, 0.6, 0.8, and 1.0mmol⋅L-1 .The primed seeds were placed in a seed germination chamber to germinate under low-temperature stress ( 13∘C and salt stress(120 mmol L-1ΔNaCl) ,respectively,and the germination percentage, germination energy, germinationindex,germinationvigorof theseeds,andshoot length,plumule length,radicle length,fresh ma,anddry masswere determined.Theresultsdemonstrated that seed primingwith 0.2mmol⋅L-1 SAsignificantly enhanced keygermination parameters compared to the CK.This improvement was observed in germination percentage, germination energy,germination index,germinationvigorof theseeds,andshoot length,plumule length,radicle length,freshmass,and dry mass under both low-temperature and salt stress conditions.At the concentrations of 0.8 and 1.0mmol⋅L-1 ,SA treatmentaggravatedtheeffectsoflow-temperatureandsaltstressesonall seed germinationindicatorsofrapeseed(exceptfor radicle length under salt stress),with the aggravating effects becoming more pronouncedas the concentration increased. Therefore,theoptimalconcentrationofSApriming foreectielyaleviating thecombineddetrimentaleffectsoflow-temperature and salt stress on rapeseed seed germinationwere determined to be 0.2mmol⋅L-1
