Abstract:Thispaperaddresss theprevalentproblemsinundergraduateresearch training inagronomy,namelythelate initiation,limitedengagementandunsatisfactoryutcomes.Itproposesaniovativeprogressiveherarchicaltraiingmodel, whichcategorizesstudentsintothreelevelsR1(ighinterest),R2(moderateinterest),andR3(basicrequirement)basedoteir researchmotivationandcareerplanning.Diferentiatedtrainingpathwaysandresourcealocationschemesaredesigned accordingly.Temodeladoptsaphasedadmisionmechanismfromthesecondsemesteroffreshmanyeartothesecondsemester ofjunioryear,coupledwithathree-tierguidancesystemof"faculty-graduatestudent-undergraduatestudent"thereby enhancingtheprecisionoffacultyinputandtheefectivenessofresearchtraining.Specialemphasisisplacedontheintegration ofR1-levelstudentsintoagriculturalpractice,includingearlyacess toexperimentalfields,full-cyclecropobservationsoil nutrientanalysis,pestanddiseasesurveys,andpreliminarybredingexperiments.Tisstudyprovidesaheoreticalframeworkand practicalpathwayforreformingundergraduateresearch training inagriculturaluniversitiesandcollegesin China.
