Statistical channel modeling and performance analysis for offshore scenarios

Abstract:Curently,researchonmaritimecommunications ispredominantlyfocusedonchannel modeling innearshore scenarios,withlmitedcosiderationofrealmeteorologicalonditios,andstudiestgetingosoresenariosstillqufurther improvement.Inviewofthis,astatisticalover-the-horizonchannelmodelutilizingthemaritimeevaporationductphenomenonis constructedbasedonthemeasuredmeteorologicaldatafromtheYelow Searegionof ShandongProvince.Inthismodel,a rationalfunctionframeworkisemployed todescribethepropagationcharacteristicsof electromagneticwavesinthemarine environment.Aditionally,tohanceeaccuacyoftmodel,thcoeffientsoftemodelareorrctedandoptiizdwith thenonlinearleastsquaremethod.Simulationanalysisdemonstratesthatthechannelmodel provides moreaccurate predictionof electromagneticwavepropagationpathlossinthesurounding maritimeareas,with theroot-mean-squareerror(RMSE)of prediction forboth winterandsummerbeing lower than thoseof thesurfaceduct modeland thefre-space model.Moreover,it exhibits superiorperformance in UAV-assisted maritime communication systems.
