Hydrogeochemical Characteristics ofLimestone Aquifer in 2401 Panel of Xinji No. 2 Mine

Abstract: [Purposes] In view of the complex hydrogeological conditions of Huainan coalfield,this study systematicallyanalyzes the hydrogeochemical characteristics of groundwater incoal mines to identify the main water sources that pose a threat to coal mining.[Methods] Taking Xinji No.2 mine and 24Ol panel of Huainan City as a case study,Piper three-line analysis and major ion analysis methods were employed to systematically investigate the variation trend of hydrochemical types and ionic concentration gradients with depth acrosslimestone aquifers in the mining area.[Findings] According to the results of hydrochemical analysis,the water quality of Taiyuan Formation limestone is mainly HCO 3 ·Cl-Na type, the Ordovician limestone is Cl-Na type,while the Cambrian limestone is Cl ⋅⋅ HCO NA type,and the wa3 ter quality of panel 24O1 is classified as SO 4 ·HCO 3 -Na type.With the increase of mining depth,the concentrations of Ca2+ , Mg2+ ,Na++K+and Cl- decreases,while concentration of SO progressively rises. The concentration of HCO3- remains relatively stable with the increase of mining depth.[Conclusions] The Taiyuan Formation limestone aquifer is a direct water-filling aquifer,while the Ordovician limestone is an indirect water-filling aquifer.Inaddition,the variation patterns of ion concentrations with depth is revealed, which provides a scientific basis for formulating targeted measures to prevent and control mine waterhazards,and thus helping to reduce the risk of water inrush accidents.
