Analysis and Application of TBM Tunnel Convergence Monitoring in the Subsequent Optimization Project

Abstract: [Purposes] To analyze the convergence behavior of TBM-driven tunnels during the construction process,ensuring both constuction safety and engineering quality.[Methods] Taking a certain TBM tunnel as an example,this study conducts safety monitoring on the convergence of the TBM tunnel by employing flexible inclinometers and convergence meters,and then performs a comparative analysis of the collcted data.[Findings] It was revealed from the comparative analysis that there was a 1 mm accuracy deviation between diferent monitoring instruments.The flexible inclinometer delivers advanced precision with smart monitoring capabilities,though subject to installation limitations,whereas the convergence meter,while operationally straightforward,exhibits higher susceptibility to environmental interference.[Conclusions] The research outcomes not only provide a solid foundation for ensuring rational adjustments of the TBM's machine posture during tunneling in this project,but also offer operational safeguards for subsequent construction and long-term operation. Furthermore,they serve as a valuable reference for other water diversion projects employing TBM methods,particularly in the selection of convergence monitoring systems, construction safety control,and engineering quality assurance.
