Comparison of Construction Techniques and Economic Efficiency Among Different Transport and Erection Methods for Simply Supported T-beams in Railway Engineering

Abstract: [Purposes] This paper aims to evaluate the selection of different transport and erection methods for simply supported concrete T-beams in railway engineering,with the objectives of maximizing resource utilization effciency,optimizing construction process sequencing,and ultimately improve the overall performance of railway construction projects.[Methods] The differences between railway and highway methods for transporting and erecting simply-supported T-beams are thoroughly analyzed using methods such as literature review,field investigation and dataanalysis.[Findings] Through computationalanalysis,itis found that475km is thecritical thresholdof transport distance.When thetransport distance exceeds 475km,railway transportation is more cost-effective,while highway transportation is more economical for distances less than 475 km.[Conclusions] The selection of the railway simply supported T-beam transportation and erection methods needs to be decided comprehensively according to the transport distance,transportation and erection methods,and equipment conditions.The establishment of the critical transport distance model analysis shows that this method significantly reduces the comprehensive cost and shortens the construction duration,and provides a reusable economic compari

son framework for similar railway engineering
