Chinese version of the Daily Time Management Scale and its reliability and validity test

Abstract  Objective：To translate the Daily Time Management Scale（DTMS） into Chinese，and to test its reliability and validity.Methods：The Brislin translation model was used to translate the DTMS， and the Chinese version of DTMS was formed after cultural adjustment through expert consultation and pre⁃survey.A total of 300 patients with type 2 diabetes for cross⁃sectional investigation were selected by convenience sampling method to test the reliability and validity of Chinese version of DTMS.Results：The analysis results of Chinese version of DTMS showed that all items were reasonably designed and well distinguished.The item⁃level content validity index（I⁃CVI） ranged from 0.875 to 1.000，and the scale⁃level content validity index（S⁃CVI） was 0.928.Exploratory factor analysis extracted three common factors，and the cumulative contribution rate of variance was 64.695%.The Cronbach's α coefficient was 0.864，and the Cronbach's α coefficients of the three dimensions were 0.851，0.834 and 0.746，respectively.The retest reliability was 0.845.The Chinese version of DTMS included 16 items in three dimensions：coordination between job satisfaction and life fulfillment， adjustment of life pace， and overall consideration of goal orientation.Conclusions：The Chinese version of DTMS had good reliability and validity in the application of type 2 diabetes patients，and it could be used as an effective tool to evaluate the daily time management of type 2 diabetes patients.
