Application of intervention program based on Pender's health promotion model in rehabilitation of total knee arthroplasty patients

Abstract  Objective：To construct an intervention program based on Pender's health promotion model，and to explore the effect of its application in home rehabilitation of total knee replacement patients.Methods：A total of 35 patients who underwent total knee arthroplasty from January to March 2023 in the department of joint and sports medicine of a tertiary grade A hospital in Dalian city were selected as the control group，and 36 patients who underwent total knee arthroplasty from April to June 2023 were selected as the intervention group by convenience sampling method.The control group patients received routine nursing.The intervention group patients received nursing intervention based on Pender's health promotion model on the basis of the control group.The compliance of home rehabilitation training，Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score，Self⁃Efficacy for Rehabilitation Outcome Scale and Tampa Scale of Kinesiophobia scores of the two groups were compared before and after the intervention.Results：Four weeks and 12 weeks after intervention，the compliance of home rehabilitation training，the score of knee injury and osteoarthritis and the score of rehabilitation self⁃efficacy in the intervention group patients were higher than those in the control group patients，and the score of kinesiophobia was lower than that in the control group patients（all P<0.05）.Conclusions：The intervention program based on Pender's health promotion model could enhance the rehabilitation self⁃efficacy of patients after total knee replacement，reduce the incidence of kinesophobia，improve patients' compliance with home rehabilitation training，and promote knee rehabilitation.
