Applicationand Effect Evaluation of Dual Situated Learning Model in English Ability TrainingofMedical Students

Abstract: Based on the dual situated learning model (DSLM),the medical English situated module utilizes intemationallyrecognized professional corpora to select classic cases of clinical doctor-patient dialogues, emergency treatment,and standardized patient diagnosis and treatment. It adopts a“dual-teacher workshop" training approach involving English teachers and clinical physicians to facilitate the generation of IPMET (information,literacy,problem-solvingskils,medicalsciences,Englishproficiency,teamwork) comprehensive abilities.Byorganizing competitions,it builds aplatform for testing practical abilities and creates a practical scenario where students and experts showcase their skils on the same stage.This in-class and out-of-class integrated medical English practical teaching mode combines the instrumental nature of foreign languages with clinical medical practice,integrates language ability cultivation throughout the course,effectively enhances students’medical English proficiency,highlights the medical profesional characteristics in English teaching,and provides a reference for the multi-disciplinary cooperation mode.
