Abstract: In developing regions of Africa, longstanding challnges persist in the healthcare system, especially in theaspect of Laboratory Medicine, where shortages in resources, lack of skilled personnel, and limited technical capacity are particularly evident. With theadvancement of the“Health Silk Road”initiative, collaboration between China and African countries in health education and training has deepened substantialy. Taking the 2O24 continuing education program for Malawian medical personnel pursuing further studies in Laboratory Medicine in China as a starting point, this paper systematically outlines the teaching objectives, course design, and cultural support strategies of this program. The course design, which integrates theories and practice, systematically cultivates the personnel’s skils in basic laboratory testing, molecular diagnostics, immunoassay techniques, and quality management. The participants can not only master advanced laboratory techniques, but also possess the ability to localize application. In addition,cross-cultural learning also enhances their understanding of China’s healthcare system. The implementation of the program not only contributes to improving participants’technical skils, clinical practice capabilities, and personal professional quality, but also helps establish a local talent system in Laboratory Medicine, enhancing the self-sustaining development momentum of their healthcare system. The Sino-African cooperation mechanism and training mode embodied in the program provide a practical case for promoting global health education cooperation.
