Abstract: In thecurrnt landscape of medical higher education,Biochemistryand Molecular Biology laboratory course has become an increasingly vital practical component in training medical professionals. Under the “New Medicine” framework,cultivating medical talent now demands not only interdisciplinary competencies but also a global perspective.This necessitates breaking away from the limitations of traditional experimental courses,which often rely on singular teaching modes,assessment systems,and evaluation methods,to achieve diversified integration and innovation in content,pedagogy,and evaluation systems. This paper adopts the“openness” perspective to explore reforms in bilingual teaching for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology laboratory course in medical school of Lanzhou University.Our findings reveal that introducing “adaptability” into experimental content,integrating“multifaceted” teaching methodsinto classroom practice,and implementing comprehensive evaluation systems not only enhance instructional efectiveness but also significantly boost student engagement and enthusiasm. These approaches concurently foster students' international perspectives and problem-solving skils. Our reform initiatives provide valuable insights for the continuous improvement of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology laboratory courses,chart new directions for pedagogical innovation in other medical experimental courses,and establish a robust foundation for cultivating high-caliber medical professionals who meet international standards.
