Abstract The control work of Solidago canadensis in the Qinling region was taken as an example. Based on the growth characteristics，damage featuresand ocurrence patterns of the plant，the links that need improvement inthe control work wereanalyzed and targeted control strategies were proposed.Solidago canadensis has strong reproductive， diffsion，adaptabilityandcompetitiveness.Itcangrow in various environments suchasopenareas，river beaches， wastelands，roadsand farmlands，andcan inhibit thegrowth of other plants ininvadedareas.The study areais characterized by high mountains and dense forests，and the terrainconditions pose considerable dificulties for field investigation.Meanwhile，theregion spans multipleprovincesand involves a diverserange of management entities， making coordination highlychallenging.This poses numerous challenges tothe preventionand controlof Solidago canadensis，and there isroom for improvement in terms of testingcapabilities，screningand monitoring，control techniques，awarenessof preventionandcontrol，and long-term mechanisms.Specificpreventionandcontrolstrategies include intensifyingquarantineeforts，strengthening thetechnical standardsforquarantineattheoriginofseedlings andre-inspection during transportation，enhancing daily monitoring，rationally selecting preventionand control methods，scientificallycontrolling andremoving，raising awareness of hazards，intensifying responsibility publicity， intensifying daily patrols，andestablishinga long-term managementand protection mechanism，etc.Thisarticle provides a reference for the relevant regions to carryout the prevention and control work of Solidago canadensis.
