Abstract:LipoproteinX(LpX)isanatypicallipoproteinthatabnormallyaccumulatesintheplasmaofpatients withcholestatic liverdisease,anditisalsoamajorpathogenicfactorforhypercholesterolemia.TheformationofLpXiscloselyassociatedwiththe abnormalmetabolismoffreecholesterol,phospholipids,andotherlipidcomponents inbile.LpXcannotbeclearedViathelowdensitylipoproteinreceptorpathwayandismainlymetabolizedbythereticuloendothelial system.Theabnormalaccumulationof LpXiscloselyassociatedwithvariouscomplicationsofcholestaticliverdisease,includingxanthomaandneuropathyAlthough thereisnosignificantcorelationbetweenthehighlevelofLpXandtherisofatherosclerosis,theroleofLpXincholesterol metabolismdisorderscannotbeneglected.DuetothesimilaritiesindensityandcharacteristicsbetweenLpXandlow-ensity lipoproteincholesterol,clinicaltesting mayresult inmisdiagnosisandrelated treatmentriss.Currntstudies mainlyfocusonthe mechanismsofLpXformation,theclinicalsignificanceofLpX,relateddetectionmethods,and potentialtherapeuticstrategies. PlasmaexchangeisconsideredthepreferedtreatmentinthestateofhighLpX,whiletraditionallipid-loweringdrugshavea limitedeffectonLpX.Thisaticleexplores theformationandclearancemechanismsofLpXincholestaticliverdisease,along with itsimpactofcholestaticliverdiseaseandrelateddetectionmethods,inordertoimprovetheunderstandingofthepathophsiology andclinicalsignificanceofLpX,providenewstrategiesforthemanagementofcholestaticliverdiseaseanditscomplicatios,and finally improve the prognosis of patients.
