Introduction of HUANG Songbai's Experience in Treating Lung Nodules with the Resolving Method

Abstract：This article introduces HUANG Songbai's clinical experience in treating lung nodules with the resolving method.Modern medicine lacks efective interventions for lung nodules that do not yet met surgical criteria.HUANG Songbai proposes thatthe core pathogenesis of lung nodules lies in the blending of phlegm，blood stasis，heat，and toxin with each other.Their dynamic progressioncan becategorized into three stages.Atthe early stage，the pathogenesis is characterizedbyphlegmand blood stasisobstructing colaterals；atthe middle stage，thatof heat and toxinstagnatingcollaterals；andat thelatestage thatoftoxin-induced deficiencyof healthyqi.Thisevolutionparalels the inflammation-cancer transition mechanism inoncology.Basedon the resolving method，HUANG advocatesatrinity therapeutic approach for lung nodules：dissolving phlegm and disipating masses，clearing heat and detoxifying，and supporting healthyqi to inhibitcancer.Theemphasis isplacedoncutingoff the toxintoprevent deteriorationonce it occurs，usingheat-clearing and detoxifying herbs to block the transformationof heat-toxin intocancer-toxin.Treatment strategies are dynamically adjusted according to the nodule stage，with modified Xiaoluo Wan for dissolving phlegm and dissipating masses.This approach synergistically integrates clearing heat anddetoxifying，and supporting healthy qi to inhibit cancer，stressing the dynamic therapeutic principle of simultaneous application of purging and nourishing.
