Abstract:Stroke is acommon cerebrovasculardisease characterized by high incidence, disability, and mortality rates.Recentadvancements in the microbiota-gut-brainaxis theory have revealed complex interactions between the gut andthe brain, thus providinganovel approach for stroke treatment.Acording tosweat pore theory, disorderof gut microbiotain strokeis akey pathogenic factorcontributing to the accumulationof dampness, heat, phlegm, and blood stasis.Theintestinalbarierandblood-brainbarrierareconsideredthe microscopicmorphological foundationsof sweat pores. The primary pathogenesisof post-stroke neurological dysfunction and cognitive impairment lies in stagnation and obstructionofsweatpores, which preventsqi-fluidfromfreeflowand deactivationof the vitalactivity.Thetherapeutic strategies focus on opening the sweat pores,dredgingqi-fluid,and activating the vital activity, thus providing a holistic approach for stroke.Explorationon the traditionalChinese medicineconnotation of microbiota-gut-brain axis in strokeunder theguidanceof sweat pore theorynotonly advances the theoretical framework of sweat pores but also inspires innovative clinical interventions of stroke.
