Abstract：Type2 diabetes melitus（T2DM）complicated with hyperuricemia（HUA）isa common metabolic disorder whose incidence is increasing year byyear.Abnormalities in gut microbiota structure，metabolites，and the intestinal mucosal barrier can induce systemicoxidative stressand inflammatoryresponses，impairing intestinal and renal excretion.This，hence，exacerbates insulin resistance and uric acid metabolism disorders，and closely corresponds to the traditional Chinese medicine pathogenesis offailure of spleen in transportation internal generation of turbid pathogens-blockageof thecollterals.Turbid pathogenslatentinthecolaterals constitute the fundamental pathogenesisof T2DM complicated with HUA，while gut-kidneyaxisimbalance represents itsmicroscopic manifestation.Therefore，thisarticle usesthegut-kidney axis as an entrypointtoelucidate the scientificconnotationof thetheory of turbid pathogens latent inthecollaterals，aiming toprovide novel clinical strategiesand theoretical foundations for the prevention and treatment of T2DM complicated with HUA.
