type,and its impacton inflammatory factors.Methods:According to the random number table method,78 patients

with frozen shoulderofqi deficiencyand blood stasis type treatedat WenzhouTCM Hospitalof Zhejiang Chinese Medical University from August 2023 to August 2O24 were divided into theobservation group(39 cases)and thecontrol group (39 cases).The control group received extracorporeal shock wave therapy,while the observation group received additional modified Buyang Huanwu Decoction hot compress based on the control group's treatment.Both groups were treated forfour weeks.The clinical eficacy afterfour weeks of treatment was compared betweenthe two groups,along with changes inpain severity[Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)score],shoulder joint function[Constant-Murleyshoulder function score],qualityof life [Short Form -36 (SF-36) score],and laboratory values levels [interleukin- 6 (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor -α (TNF -α ), and transforming growth factor -β1 (TGF -β1 )] before treatment and after four weeksof treatment.Results:After four weeks of treatment,the total effective rate inthe observation group was 97.44% (202 (38/39),significantly higher than 79.49% (31/39)in the control group( P<0.05 ).VAS scores decreased in both groups compared to those before treatment ( P<0.05 ),with the observation group showing lower VAS scores than the control group ( P<0.05 ). Constant-Murley shoulder function and SF-36 scores increased in both groups compared to those before treatment( P<0.05 ),and both scores were higher in the observation group than in the control group ( P< 0.05).Serum levels of IL-6,TNF- α ,and TGF-β1 decreased in both groups compared to those before treatment ( P< 0.05),with lower levels observed in the observation group than in the control group ( P<0.05 ).Conclusion:The combinationof extracorporeal shock wave therapy with modified Buyang Huanwu Decoction hot compress in the treatmentoffrozenshoulderofqi deficiencyand blood stasis typeimproves theclinicalefficacy,enhances shoulderjoint function and quality of life of patients,and reduces inflammatory responses.
