Impact of Hydrogen Blending on the Standards System of Long-Distance Natural Gas Pipeline Networks

Abstract:[Objective]This studyaims to investigate the impactofhydrogen blendingontheexisting standardssystem for long-distance natural gaspipeline networksandassessthe applicabilityof thestandardssystem.[Methods]Through literature reviewandanalysis,thestudyevaluates thecurrentstateofChina’snatural gas pipelinestandards.Itexamines theffectsof hydrogen blending on the physical and chemical propertiesof natural gas,transmision characteristics,metering accuracy, materialcompatibilityandpipelineoperationalsafety.Basedontheseanalyses,targetedsuggestionsare made toimprove andsupplement thetechnical contentofrelevant standards.[Results]The existing standards system for natural gas pipelines is generallyapplicabletoydrogen-blendedtransmision.However,keyareasrquirespecializedresearchndrvisios to ensuresafeandeffective implementation,includingthedevelopmentofnew,dedicatedstandards.[Conclusion]Establishng a dedicated hydrogen transmisionstandardssystem,alongwithasystematicplan forstandarddevelopmentandrevision,is essential to support the safe,efcient,and economical transportationofhydrogen-natural gas mixtures.
